From BSN to UX/UI Design: My Journey of Growth, Overcoming Obstacles, and Embracing Happiness

Transitioning from one career path to another can be daunting, especially when faced with family pressure and self-doubt. In this blog, I wanted to share my personal experience of shifting from a Bachelor's in Nursing to UX/UI Design, the challenges I encountered along the way, and how ultimately, I found immense happiness and fulfillment in pursuing my passion.

My journey began with a degree in nursing, a field that I initially thought would be my lifelong career. However, deep down, I always knew that my true passion lied elsewhere. Despite my hesitations, external expectations, and family pressure, I made the difficult decision to explore a different path that would nurture my creative side – the world of UX/ui Design.

Embarking on this new journey was not without its obstacles. Doubts and insecurities plagued my mind, constantly questioning my abilities and whether I had made the right choice. Family members expressed concerns about my decision, emphasizing the stability of a nursing career and the uncertainties associated with entering an unfamiliar field.

Although the road was challenging, I decided to face these obstacles head-on. I sought advice and guidance from professionals already established in the UX Design industry. Connecting with mentors who shared similar experiences provided invaluable insights, reassurance, and the motivation to keep pushing forward.

As I delved deeper into the world of UX/UI Design, I discovered an inherent joy in applying my creative talents to problem-solving, creativity and enhancing user experiences. The ability to blend visual aspects with user-centric design principles sparked a genuine passion within me. It was then that I knew I had made the right decision.

With every new project and design challenge, my passion for UX/UI Design grew exponentially. The sense of fulfillment and satisfaction I experienced when creating solutions that positively impacted users' lives solidified my commitment to this career path. I found happiness in knowing that my work could make a difference and evoke positive change.

Now that I have emerged from the struggles and found my calling in UX/UI Design, I eagerly look forward to the next chapter of my life – starting my career in this exciting and ever-evolving field. I am ready to embark on this professional journey with the belief that my decision will lead to a fulfilling and gratifying career.

Transitioning from a Bachelor's in Nursing to UX/UI Design was undoubtedly a challenging decision to make and it took a whole lot of strength than I could have ever imagined ! However, through perseverance, seeking support, and following my passion, I have come to realize that my happiness and personal growth outweigh all and any obstacles that may arise. I never considered myself as a brave person but this transition led me eyeball-to-eyeball with courage. Armed with newfound knowledge and skills, I am excited to embark on my new career journey in UX/UI Design and work towards making a positive impact in the lives of users.
